Product Design (3D Design) allows students to develop their skill set to design and make a range of prototypes that can be tailored to the individual and their chosen career path. The A Level in Product Design course allows students to gain a real understanding of what it means to be a designer,
alongside the knowledge and skills sought by higher education and employers. The course encourages students to investigate historical, social, cultural, environmental and economic influences on design and technology.
The A Level will also provide opportunities to develop in context those desirable, transferable skills such as planning, research and analysis, working with others or communicating technical concepts effectively. Students demonstrate all of these skills in order to successfully create a working prototype. The course has a great balance of theoretical work, application of Maths and Science and practical work.
