Senior Leadership Team

Meet the Team

Our Senior Leadership Team are responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective running of the school on a day to day basis so that the vision and values of the school are achieved.

Led by Mr. Maxfield, who joined the school as Headteacher in September 2022, the team have a broad background and strong record of success. Across the team there is expertise in English, maths, science, humanities and the creative arts.

Mr. Maxfield completed his formal teacher training in Liverpool before returning to the West Midlands to take up his first post at a ‘Good’ school. He has enjoyed a successful career in ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ schools within South Staffordshire and the West Midlands and most recently opened a new inner-city school in Wolverhampton. Mr. Maxfield is passionate about ensuring each and every child accesses their ‘best next steps’ as a result of the education we provide.

Mr. Robinson has taught in a range of locations around the UK before coming to Codsall. He is a Specialist Leader for Education and an Ofsted Inspector.

Mrs Gwinnett has worked across schools in the West Midlands. She is the school’s Designated Safeguarding Leader and leads our Pastoral teams in school.

Mr Reid is a maths specialist and ran a highly successful maths team at the school for a number of years before accepting promotion to Assistant Headteacher at the school.

Mrs Carter has taught English in Staffordshire schools for 19 years. She successfully led the school English team for a number of years before accepting promotion to Assistant Headteacher at the school.

Mr Westwood has worked at four different schools across the West Midlands, leading successful Modern Languages Departments in a range of settings.  In his 20 years of teaching, Mr Westwood has also led on supporting pupils in their wider learning and is now Assistant Headteacher and SENDCo.


The school also benefits from the Leadership of Mr. Alun Harding, the Executive Headteacher of South Staffordshire Learning Partnership. Alongside Mr, Harding a wider team of staff provide support with Finance, Personnel, Administration and IT.
