Extended Certificate in Music Technology

Level 3 BTEC in Digital Music Production is a practically‐minded qualification for students with an interest in Music Production who would like to pursue this further, either in education, employment or for recreation.
Students will be expected to explore music technology terminology and techniques and put these in practice against assignments that mirror and use real‐life examples. Students will also further refine their skills in music software and aural theory by actively working on their craft inside and outside of lesson.
Course Breakdown
This two year course comprises:
Four internally assessed coursework units (two completed in Year 12, the remaining two in Year 13) and one 15 hour external exam to be sat in Year 12.
Internal assessed units: Mixing and Mastering Techniques, Creative Synthesis and Sampling, Music and Sound for Media, Remixing and Reworking.
External assessment exam: DAW Production.
