Diploma/Extended Diploma in Art and Design
Pearson ‐ BTEC

During the course students produce a range of practical and contextual work in response to a wide
range of briefs. There are a variety of industry based themes, ranging from teaching to anatomical
and architectural designs. The variety in both the briefs and 2/3D media and techniques prepare
students with a wide body of work to select from for the development of portfolios and materials for
progression.
This course is ideal for students who have an interest in art and want to develop their skills in a
variety of specialisms, whilst gaining a greater contextual understanding of art and design and the
art and design industry.
The qualifications are suitable for candidates wishing to pursue careers in Architecture, Interior
Design, Urban Design and Town planning, Gaming Design, Illustration and many other creative
subject areas.
