21 Mar Codsall High Celebrates Ofsted GOOD rating!
We are delighted to announce that following our Section 8 Ofsted Inspection we continue to be a “Good” school!
Highlights from the report are;
·We have maintained the good quality of education since the last inspection.
·We carefully monitor the progress we make against our set actions and hold leaders and staff to account for the quality of teaching and the progress that is made by pupils.
·The additional focus on spelling and grammar skills are having a positive impact on pupils’ progress across the majority of departments.
·Leaders ensure that arrangements for Safeguarding are effective. Leaders in this area have an excellent knowledge of safeguarding requirements and rigorously follow through referrals to other agencies.
·Pupils state that they feel safe in school and say that any incidents of bullying are rare but if they do occur are dealt with swiftly.
The two areas for further improvement had already been identified by the leadership team and governors to move us to “Outstanding” in our next inspection.
These were that we should:
1. Ensure that the pace of progress for boys improves so that they achieve consistently well across all subjects.
2. Further decrease the amount of disadvantaged pupils and pupils who have SEN and / or disabilities who are persistently absent.
I’m delighted that the hard work of staff and students has been rightfully recognised in this report. I’m also very grateful to the many parents that wrote so many positive comments in their feedback to the inspection team.
We look forward to working together to make the school truly “outstanding” in the coming years. The full report is available via our school website from Friday of this week. If any parent wishes to receive a paper copy we are more than happy to provide one.
