In November 2004, Codsall Community High School became a specialist Maths and Computing College in recognition of the excellent practice in the school in mathematics and ICT education.
Since then provision in these two subjects has continued to improve as have the opportunities for learners at the school and the wider community. These include:
- Accelerated maths lessons for gifted students in year 8;
- The chance for all learners to gain a GCSE in ICT during year 9;
- A virtual learning environment to support out of hours learning;
- The full range of sixth form courses offered including Computer Science and Further maths;
- A wide range of IT courses offered to members of the community.
In January 2008, the school was redesigned as a specialist school for a further three years. During this phase we will be:
- continuing to improve the ICT facilities at the school,
- making maths and ICT lessons even more interesting and enjoyable;
- offering one to one and small group tuition before GCSE exams;
- delivering the IT diploma to learners from across South Staffordshire;
- working even more closely with our partner middle schools;
- helping students reach the very highest level of achievement in mathematics and ICT.
