All students at the school take part in charity events to raise money for the local community, national and internal charity organisations.

In recent years students at the school have raised money by bowling for Barnardo's, wearing Jeans for Genes day, having an aerobic workouts for Lepra, taking part in talent shows for Comic Relief and fashion shows for Children in Need.

The Sixth Form Community Project was set up in April 2008 to raise money for local charities and running interesting projects within our community. The Sixth Form Community Team has run tea dances for the local senior citizens, raised money for Cystic Fibrosis, organised an Arts show and designed leaflets and posters for local organisations such as The Local History society and Special Needs Organisation.

The school is 70 years old in 2010 and to celebrate this event the Sixth Form Community Team is organising a Living History exhibition, which will be shown in the local community. This is an exciting project involving the contributions of pupil, ex-pupils and local residents.

We are really proud of our students’ initiative when it comes to fundraising and the help they have given to so many good causes over the years.
